In the economy considered how expensive Easter cake

Homemade cake has risen by more than 35% compared to last year.

On the eve of the Easter holidays a team of analysts Ministry of economic development decided to investigate the dynamics of the cost of baking a celebratory cake in 2017 compared with 2016.

“In the study we found that baking the cake at home will cost is 29.81 UAH, which is by 35.3% more expensive than in 2016”, — stated in the message.

As noted, prices rose nearly all the ingredients.

“Most of all, 34%, rose butter. It is the most influenced by the growth of final cost of homemade cake, because the share of butter is about 30%. Powdered sugar, in turn, continues to show signs of remarkable stability for three consecutive years, it is 40 UAH per kilogram,” — said the Ministry.

According to the consensus forecast of economic development, inflation in 2017 will remain at 11% (December 2017 to December 2016).

The Ministry noted that “the index Easter cake” is not an official macroeconomic indicator does not reflect inflation or the consumer price index. All calculations are approximate, made on the basis of DSS monitoring of prices for socially important goods and expert assessment, Ministry of economic development.
