Yesterday, 5 June, about six in the evening on landfill company “Ecology of Ukraine” there was a massive fire. The garbage here will be taken from the left Bank of the Dnieper, of Raleigh, and towns are Free, Cherkasy, guards, gerbil, Reclamation.
The cause of the fire, according to the management of the landfill was the release of gas (methane) accumulated under the debris and hot and windy weather.
A night to call for suppression arrived the team of firefighters from the Dnieper. By the time the smoke has covered the area around the landfill. Locals told? the smoke was felt even near the building of the train station, located a few kilometers from the landfill.
Fire brigade worked for several hours, and they managed to put out the fires part.
However, in the morning dump continued to burn. A huge column of smoke was visible from a distance of 10-15 km.
