On the slopes of the Ternopil castle archaeologists have found a fortification wall of the SIXTEENTH century.
On the slopes of the Ternopil castle in the city centre carried out large-scale excavations. For the week, the archaeologists were able to find defensive wall of the castle near the fountain “Tears Gronsky”. In the near future experts will define its length. Yet it is noted that the wall was used for shooting arrows or muskets.
This is the first result of the excavations. According to archaeologists, is the minimum of what they expect to find. The work will last for several years. Much depends on funding. Now works are carried out without attraction of budgetary funds. In the future, the city hopes the money of the European Union.
