The Nordic countries and the Baltic States should support the EU enlargement and the adoption of Ukraine in the organization.
This statement was made by the speaker of the Swedish Parliament urban Ahlin during a speech at the “Riga conference-2017”.
“The Nordic countries and the Baltic States should be the voice in the European Union, which will be encouraged to be more open to globalization… We have to be at the head of discussions about which countries are eligible to be members of the EU. I’m talking about countries such as Ukraine and Moldova,” said Alin.
According to him, it is not necessary to advocate the closing of borders to people who visit Scandinavia and the Baltics, were able to see the benefits of integration.
Alin added that the refusal to debate on EU enlargement is a big mistake.
“At some point in the future will be a good period for EU enlargement, and we must promote this idea,” he added.
