The project “The World Food Building” — garden-skyscraper, which began to be erected in the Swedish city of linköping, moves into the second phase of construction.
The skyscraper looks like a tall building, the floors of which is entirely filled with greenhouses. Everything works on the hydroponics and controlled by the automation, the beds with plants isolated from the polluted urban environment.
The idea is simple — to build in the middle of a big city vertical complex of greenhouses with vegetables and berries to feed the townspeople.
The project will cost Sweden a total of 40 million dollars, but will be able to feed 5 thousand people a year.
