The President of the Republic noted that the placement of such a base is a politicized issue.
The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik announced plans to build on its territory the Russian base, which will aim to help in case of natural disasters.
The President called this database “humanitarian” and said that he considered it necessary to spend this summer in negotiations on the issue.
“In 2014 we had a big flood, which caused damage to two billion marks. Then we got help from Western Europe and Turkey. Why should we abandon the Russians, who also offered his assistance during a possible natural disaster?” asked Dodik.
He also stressed that the placement of such a base is a politicized issue. Therefore, he assured that the Republic of Srpska will be glad to anyone who wants to place a humanitarian basis “to help in difficult moments.”
