The head of the state Duma Committee on health Dmitry Morozov said that the MPs would submit within a month a bill on compulsory treatment of people who repeatedly committed administrative offence, being in alcoholic intoxication.
“We now have a package of legislative initiatives concerning compulsory treatment for those who committed an administrative offense in alcoholic intoxication, and it’s not the first time happening. Here are these people, society should have the right to forcibly treat,” said frost.
According to the MP, this package of bills is being worked on under the supervision of the Chairman of the faction “United Russia”, Deputy speaker of the state Duma Vladimir Vasilyev together with the state Duma Committee for security and combating corruption.
“We are finalizing now and hope that in a month we will submit for consideration to the state Duma,” — said Morozov.
He also said that on 4 December in the state Duma will pass a major inter-parliamentary conference called “Parliamentarians against drugs”, which discusses the treatment and rehabilitation not only to drug addicts, but people suffering from alcoholism.
