Two people were killed Tuesday in a car collision with a passenger train in the Crimean region of Kuban, the press service of Novorossiysk LO MVD Rossii na transporte.
According to preliminary data of the Ministry, the incident in the village Merchanskoe occurred due to violations of traffic rules by a driver of a Hyundai Accent, which tried to pass in front of an oncoming passenger train “Ufa — Novorossiysk”.
“As a result of collision the driver and the passenger died on the spot”, — stated in the message.
It is specified that the train driver applied the emergency brake, but due to the insufficient distance to avoid a collision failed.
