The General Prosecutor’s office informed the Ministry that Roshydromet had erred in his prediction of the may hurricane in Moscow
About August 29, said the representative of the Prosecutor General Aleksandr Kurennoy.
The audit prosecutors came to the conclusion that “one of the reasons for the catastrophic consequences of a natural disaster was inaccurate forecast”, in which it was stated that the wind gusts will not exceed 22 meters per second. In fact, the wind speed reached 30 meters per second.
In addition, the Supervisory authority noted that in Adygea, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Mari El, Chechnya, Nenets Autonomous district and the Altai region there is no monitoring of ambient air condition.
The Prosecutor’s office noted that only 7 percent of observation points is able to continuously record air pollution.
Roshydromet declined to comment on the claim of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of natural resources noticed that the Supervisory authority is not all the information “about the real situation in this sphere”.
