According to experts, growth of prices for medicines is connected with increase of expenses of manufacturers on imported active ingredients and maintenance of foreign equipment in connection with the fall of the ruble. General Director DSM Group Sergey shuljak said, that the increase reaches 15%. Some vendors raised prices on existing inventory, as the next party they will have to buy taking into account devaluation of the national currency.
Higher prices allowed the suppliers to cut off part of the customers. They still could not fulfill all orders because of the hype. A sharp increase in demand for medicines in the pharmacies began in mid-March. For example, from 16 to 20 March in a number of pharmacy chains selling medicines in natural expression has increased by 50% year-on-year. Consumers have scared of the price increase of drugs due to the fall of the ruble and decided to stock up.
But from 30 March to 5 April, sales decreased on average by 20% compared to the same period last year. It is connected with isolation. Also bought during the rush of medication, the Russians can last for six months. As sales began to fall, new growth in retail prices most likely will not happen.
