In Khabarovsk was killed by the world and European champion in powerlifting Andrey Drachev.
The athlete died after he was severely beaten.
The tragedy occurred early in the morning. Drachev was resting in one of the city’s cafes, when one of the resting men began to provoke him to a fight. The athlete has tried to solve the conflict peacefully and invited the man to sort things out sober gloves in the ring, but the attacker is not satisfied.
Avoid fights Dracevo failed – along with his opponent and his friends he went outside, where he was severely beaten. First, according to eyewitnesses, powerlifter twice beat the crowd, after which the world champion finished off one of the attackers. The guards cafe quietly observed the fight and intervened only when a man several times hit Drachev kicked in the face, began to give the athlete many blows to the head.
Despite the efforts of doctors, the 31-year-old Drachev died from his injuries. The suspect committing the crime fled and is currently wanted.
