The shop owner Bimex Jerzy Ers from the city of Barlinek in Poland decided to check all Ukrainians, after they penetrate the products at the checkout. He even hung a sign photo which spread on social networks.
The inscription on the tablet in two languages reads: “Every citizen of Ukraine after exit from cash register will be checked”.
On the situation was soon informed the Polish Prosecutor’s office, the Ombudsman and the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland. After that, the store owner explained that the sign he gave to the cashier after a Ukrainian stole the store for two bags of food. She stayed there for about a day, then the businessman took it off.
“I said do it on impulse, too fast. Not thus had to be content signs. I sincerely apologise to anyone who feels offended. Plates with such a content can not be”, – said the owner of the store.
Ers added that a sign was not supposed to refer to Ukrainians. It only had to be translated into Ukrainian language. Such a sign in Polish that do not access a particular ethnic group, hung over the cash register for 30 years and no one interfered.
The store owner added that Ukrainians are stealing a lot more of the poles, as in his shop and around Barlinek.
“The poles can steal something once a month. Ukrainians these stories happen even four times a week. I had to hire two additional security guards,” complained a shop owner.
