The Minister of national defence of Poland, Anthony Macierewicz said that the threat from Russia to the Eastern flank of NATO was very high, in particular due to the Russian-Belarusian exercises “West-2017”.
“The activity of the air forces of the Russian Federation near the Eastern flank of NATO is very high. Constant tension,” said Macierewicz.
According to him, the likelihood is high that after the Executive exercises Moscow will leave some of its troops on the territory of Belarus.
“There are concerns, and this is confirmed by many international experts about the possibility of leaving part of the armed forces who will take part in the exercise “Zapad-2017″, on the territory of Belarus”, – summed up Macierewicz.
Recall that the exercises “West-2017” will be held in September at the sites of Russia and Belarus.
