A group of researchers found the volcano of artificial origin with a ladder inside.
In Peru, researchers from the University of Missouri found the volcano of artificial origin, within which there is a long staircase.
As reported scientists, the height of the mound above the volcano is about 15 meters and it was built during the Neolithic.
The volcano has the form of small cone on the banks of the river Nepena. Inside there are stairs by which local residents descended into the mound. The walls of the shelter have been strengthened with brick, and the floor of the so-called well has a coating of gypsum.
The researchers believe that the ancient Peruvians used a volcano for fires to get maximum combustion temperature.
