In Nikolaev prohibited to hold mass actions and rallies on may 1-2

The decision was made in order to ensure public order and security.

The Executive Committee of the Nikolaev city Council decided to ban the holding of mass events in the city may 1 and 2, reports.

This is stated in the decision that announced the member of the Executive Committee Andrei Yermolayev.

“Ban mass actions on the territory of the city of Nikolaev on 1 and 2 may 2017. To recommend to the Chief Directorate of the National police in the Nikolaev area, management of security Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area to take the necessary measures to enhance the security of people in their places of mass stay and ensuring public order on the territory of the city of Nikolaev, to prevent, detect and suppress terrorist activities, securing of objects of possible terrorist attacks”, – is spoken in the decision of the Executive Committee.

It is noted that the decision was made in order to ensure public order in Nikolaev during the may holidays on may 1-2, increased safety measures, protection of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, timely detection and elimination of reasons and conditions contributing to terrorist acts, response, and cessation of terrorist acts and mitigation of their consequences.

Measures have been taken considering the appeal of the regional Department of the national police and the SBU to assess the level of terrorist threat in the region”.
