Video cameras that recognize faces, will be installed before the end of the year.
In Kiev before the end of the year there will be nearly 2 thousands of CCTV cameras in the framework of “Safe capital”. About it reports a press-service of the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.
Klitschko recalled that three years ago during a visit to Israel got acquainted with the work of video surveillance system in tel Aviv. A similar system is implemented in Kiev. At the expense of the city budget in Kiev set 4 thousands of intelligent cameras on the bridges, in the metro, and key places of a congestion of people, on objects of social infrastructure, schools and kindergartens.
In addition, the city is connected to the citywide camera system of private institutions.
“Before the end of the year there will be nearly 2 thousands of smart cameras. They already have an effect. Recently there was a resonant case, when the child was abducted from the kindergarten. Using cameras, the police quickly established the identity of the kidnapper of the child and its approximate location. As a result of operational actions of the police the child was found,” – said Klitschko.
Earlier it was reported that after the abduction of a child in Kiev, Klitschko said that five thousand cameras watching the people of Kiev.
