In Kiev, held the initiative “Spring tours”.
If you want to learn more about Kiev – you will find the historic city centre. However, one thing to stroll through the significant places of the capital, and quite another to do the same in the company of a guide who will enrich your knowledge about the capital of Ukraine.
However, not all are willing to pay money for such excursions. And that is why the first year in Kiev, held the initiative “Spring tours”.
This project takes place in Kyiv for the third year in a row. Its essence lies in the fact that the best students of the Department of study of local lore and tourism of the geography faculty of Kyiv national Taras Shevchenko conduct free tours of historical places of the capital. All tours take place on weekends and ,of course, are free.
The project is in the framework of the activities of the local history club “Origins.” And support to the initiative has TourInfo Kyiv, GO “NORTH” and all-Ukrainian Association of tour guides and the Department of tourism KSCA. All routes will start near the visitor information centres TourInfo Kyiv.
All tours will take place on the weekends, and will begin at 11:00 and 13:00. The duration of the tour will be about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Tour schedule as follows: 4, 5 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 may and 1 June. It is worth remembering that excursion will need to register in advance and take place in the group on a specific tour. And there are only three:
Temples and churches of Podol. Tour route: old academic building the building of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy , monument to Grigory Skovoroda, Contract house, the guest house, fountain “Samson tearing the lion’s mouth”, the Church of the assumption of the virgin pirogoscha, Svyatopokrovsky Podolska Church, St. Andrew’s Church, the Church of Nikolay Dobry, House of Nazar Dry, a monument to Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, the Church of St. Catherine.

Kiev – mother of Russian cities. Tour route: St. Sophia Cathedral, monument to Princess Olga, St. Apostle Andrew and the Apostle Cyril and Methodius, the remains of the tithe Church, the remains of the Palace of Princess Olga.

The government quarters. Tour route: the monument to the workers of plant “Arsenal”, Mariinsky Park, a monument to participants of the January armed uprising, a Mansion Polyakova, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine (Cabinet of Ministers), the Fountain “theremin”, the Mariinsky Palace, Akhmatova and Monuments to Lesja Ukrainka Monument Zankovetskoy and summer theatre Sink, art object, “the Director-observer”, the Ministry of health, Library Ostap Vyshnya, Nikolsky gates, “House aircraft”.

However, apart from these three tours, the students prepared another surprise. In may will open registration for two quests. Participation in the “Bermuda triangle hem” will be able to take pupils of 8-9 classes, but with the obligatory accompaniment of a teacher. And for parents with children will be the second quest – “the Mystical secrets of the old Kiev mountain.”
