The forum involved experts from 34 countries.
In Kiev today starts the 14th Annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) “the World was new? And what it means for Ukraine?”
The event will be opened on the Bessarabian market in Kiev’s city centre, and the plenary session of the forum and the work of the special sessions will be held in “Mystetskyi Arsenal”.
The conference will bring together more than 350 leading politicians, diplomats, businessmen, civil society activists and experts from 34 countries.
Among the main topics of the forum – changes in the geopolitical distribution of power and changes in the global economy. Also, the participants of the forum will pay attention to the politics of the new us administration, global security, cyber-security issues, populism, and energy security.
One of the most important topics of the meeting YES will be Ukraine and its prospects in the world. The discussions will focus on the changes that occur in the country, and the challenges that face her. Reforms in Ukraine, the perception of Ukraine in the EU member States, possible options for ensuring national security of Ukraine, ways of preservation of its territorial integrity and the conflict between opinion leaders and personal interests – on these key themes will focus the speakers of the plenary sessions.
September 15 at the plenary sessions of the YES forum with a speech on the topic of the role of Ukraine in the world will be the President Petro Poroshenko.
The event will be held at 12 o’clock at InterContinental Kyiv hotel. It is expected that during the high-level dialogue will discuss a number of issues related to the reform agenda for the current business season, in particular, budgetary and fiscal issues, the establishment of the financial investigation Service, judicial reform, the current state of cyber security of the country and others.
