In Kiev significantly increased the incidence of measles

Released disappointing statistic.

In Kiev for the first eight months of the year registered 22 cases of measles, while in the same period of last year was 4.

“As of 18 August this year in Kyiv was 22 cases of measles. Over the same period of 2016 – 4 case”, – stated in the message of GU “laboratory of the Kyiv city center MOH Ukraine”.

It should be noted that according to the health Ministry, the incidence of measles in Ukraine is characterized by periodic cycles. Over the past 15 years have identified three epidemic rise of measles with periodic cycles in 5-6 years: in 2001, 2006 and 2012. In these years the incidence has increased in tens and hundreds of times. During the epidemic rise in 2012, there were about 13 thousand cases of measles.

In the Department say that this is another predictable epidemic rise in the incidence of measles, which is associated with low immunization coverage of children with recurrence of this disease.
