In Kiev, sharply increased the number of patients with influenza

The increase in the incidence of influenza and SARS rose 5%

48-th week of the season in the capital, the incidence of influenza and SARS made 642,4 below the epidemiological threshold of 21.5%.

“In Kiev was 18795 patients with influenza and SARS compared to the previous week, the rise in the incidence by 5%”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the greatest increase in incidence was observed in schoolchildren – 8.3%, among adults only 1%, and among children recorded a rising incidence of 6.5%. Over the past week in medical facilities with influenza were hospitalized nearly 200 people, including 162 children.

It is known that this epidemiological season, residents of Ukraine expects new strains of influenza “Michigan”, which can lead to death. Residents of the capital are recommended to be vaccinated to avoid disease or make it progress easier. A flu shot can be done in 19 health facilities in the capital, the list can be found here.

Influenza is a disease which refers to an acute viral infection, which is heavy, unlike other colds, and can result in complications. The first symptoms of flu is usually sudden headache, the appearance of aches in the whole body and especially in legs, dry cough, nausea and vomiting, and fever.
