In Kiev schools catering menu will make translate into the Ukrainian language

All establishments required the presence menu in the state language.

This decision was taken at a plenary meeting of Kyiv city Council on 5 October.

The deputies agreed on the amendments received to the draft decision “On overcoming the consequences of Soviet occupation in the language area” and supported the document as a whole. The project of the Kyiv city Council supported the basis of the 20 April.

According to the new edition, the solution will be named “About the security measures to ensure regional language policy in the city of Kiev”.

It is determined that the language of work, record keeping and documentation of all local authorities, enterprises, institutions and organizations of communal ownership, as well as the language of official announcements is the official language.

Also, more detail written out a paragraph about the use of the Ukrainian language in the public service. It is expected that the sale of goods and rendering of services, priority use of the state language.

At the same time, at the request of the consumer, the enterprise may use any other language to fully deliver information about products and services, and proper customer service.

“We left the paragraph, which stipulates that all catering establishments is obligatory menu in the state language. While visitor services staff is committed to offer a menu of Ukrainian, and only at the request of the visitor, to provide a menu in any other language subject to availability”, – said the author of the relevant decision, city Council member Yuri Sirotyuk.

Also installed that on the territory of the city of Kiev all the names of institutions, enterprises, organizations, signs, posters, billboards, and public messages, advertisements and any other form of audio and visual advertising products information for consumers of goods and services performed in the state language and at the discretion of the owner of such information, English and any other language.
