In Kiev, launched a free medical campaign

The people of Kiev suggested to check vision.

From Monday to Friday of this week in Kiev at several medical institutions free to check vision. This reports the press service of Kyiv city state administration.

“From 13 to 17 November on the occasion of the International day of view, the people of Kiev will be able to get a free examination”, — stated in the message on the website of the municipality.

According to the Director of the Department of health of Kyiv city state administration Valentyna Ginzburg, the specialists of the Kyiv city clinical eye hospital “Center of eye microsurgery”, the ophthalmologists of the Kyiv city clinical hospital No. 1 and municipal enterprises “Consultative diagnostic center” districts of Kyiv will hold a weekly free screening of visual acuity and measurement of ocular pressure for people (particularly to patients with visual impairments), as well as counseling.

“Experts claim that up to 80% of cases of blindness are amenable to correction and treatment. With timely diagnosis and monitoring specialists are helping to preserve visual function even in the case of those diseases which are incurable,” said Ginsburg.

She urged Kiev to find time during this week and to undergo an examination of visual function in the framework of the events on the occasion of the International day of view.

“Don’t ignore troubling symptoms, such as pain and redness of the eyes, blurred vision, narrowing of the visual field, hazy vision, discomfort in your eye, and the like. Save your eyesight, visit your doctor,” said Ginsburg.
