Metropolitan municipal enterprise “Kyivpastrans” started installation of the new system for fare payment.
“Begun installation of electronic equipment for the automated fare collection system. First in line electric vehicle, then vehicles. To complete installation and launch the electronic ticket in April next year.”, – stated in the message.
First access using the e-ticket will get passengers electric. Full launch of the e-ticket plan in the second quarter of 2018.
It is expected that the new fare collection system should increase the profitability of public transport and reduce the need for state funding.
