The bridges that connect the right and left take care of the Dnieper in Kiev perform an extremely important function, and even a partial overlapping of one of them leads to a significant increase of the load on the other. However, in the capital there is a bridge, which for 18 years banned any movement.
And now it was decided finally to dismantle it. This, of course, talking about cable-stayed bridge across the Dnieper.
At the moment, only cable-stayed bridge prepared for demolition, which will occur no earlier than 2020. Now, in the area of the bridge set new restrictive signs and barriers. This is due to the transfer of engineering networks, which are now located under the bridge. Also these works are essentially preparing to build-in Podolsko resurrection bridge crossing side street on the Upper Shaft.
Cable-stayed bridge, which began operating in 1963, was recognized as an emergency in 2001. This year, the movement of any vehicle on it was forbidden. And in 2008 it was decided to ban traffic on the bridge and pedestrians. After another four years, it was decided to dismantle the bridge, but the preparatory work in this direction began only now.
