In Kiev detained Russians wanted by Interpol

One of the detainees is suspected in the murder of the chief editor of the Russian edition of “Forbes” Paul Khlebnikov.

The security service of Ukraine detained two Russian citizens residing in international search for committing heinous crimes. About it reports a press-Department service.

One of the suspects involved in the murder of American journalist Paul Klebnikov in 2004 and of the representative of the government of Chechnya.

“According to Interpol, a foreigner was involved in committing a number of murders, in particular, chief editor of the Russian edition of “Forbes”, a US citizen Paul Klebnikov, and the Deputy Chairman-chief of staff of the government of the Chechen Republic in 2001-2003. According to the operative information of special services, after fleeing from Russia, the detainee was part of an organized criminal group, which in Ukraine were engaged in extortion of money from entrepreneurs,” – said in the message.

The second detainee Russians was declared internationally wanted for crimes in the EU and in 2013, ran away during the trial.

“According to the Interpol, it became known that in 2013 the defendant was the Russians with the help of his accomplice escaped from the premises of the courtroom of the city of Sandvik in Norway”, – added in SBU.

At the moment the issue of election of a measure of restraint and possible extradition.

Earlier it was reported that the SBU expelled from Ukraine, 8 citizens of Georgia.
