In Kiev, closed shop, who is suspected of vandalism

The owners of the outlets become hostages of the situation.

In Kiev after the scandal with the destruction of the graffiti “Icon of the Revolution,” closed furniture store, which was suspected of involvement in the vandalism. Salon Director argues that graffiti painted over some provocateurs.

“Salon “Emporium” was closed! Despite the fact that we are three and a half years watched and cared for the graffiti, we have become hostages of provocateurs, who painted these works in order to commit this vandalism, I Hope the police and courts can decide who, where and how”, — wrote in his page on Facebook Director of salon Igor Dotsenko.

Revolutionary graffiti with pictures of Lesya Ukrainka, Taras Shevchenko and Ivan Franko were created during the revolution of dignity of February 10 2014 and are a reminder of history according to the order of the Ministry of culture.

The Prosecutor’s office for the destruction of graffiti has opened a criminal case. Vandalism falls under part 2 of article 298 of the Criminal code. Guilty face a fine of up to 2350 UAH, or deprivation of liberty for up to three years. In addition, the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko promised that the business “the Emporium” in the near future, carefully check all state regulatory authorities.
