Schools came under threat of closure, as Ukraine has not allocated the necessary subsidies to Kiev.
In 2018, the Ukrainian capital can close 29 schools of the first and second categories – school, technical schools and colleges. It became known that the budget for next year funding for these institution were not included.
“The only region of Ukraine, which is not provided necessary subsidies to 2018, this is Kiev. The amount of subsidies needed — 271 million. This money is earmarked for wages, and if funds will not allow schools to close, because in the city budget for these purposes no money. For comparison, over 271 million hryvnias it is possible to completely replace the pavement along the high-speed tram”, – said Dmitry Belotserkovets, Advisor to the Metropolitan Chapter.
However, he noted that the problem trying to solve, and was registered in the Parliament a proposal on the allocation of subsidies. Meanwhile, in the capital’s educational institutions have already started to panic among educators, who believe that they will not pay salary. Experts reassured teachers will not be reduced, and the situation will resolve at the level of BP in the near future.
