In Kiev, a monument to the famous Russian poet

In Kiev, a monument to Anna Akhmatova.

23 June 2017 in Mariinsky Park of Kiev took place the inauguration of the monument to Anna Akhmatova, the Author of the monument – the Metropolitan sculptor Alexander Stelmashenko.

The initiators of the monument were a group of Kiev, including the head of Inter Media Group Anna Bezlyudna and editor in chief of TV channel “inter” Anton Nikitin.

Place – Mariinsky Park – not chosen by chance. Once, walking with her sister and a nanny near Mariinsky Palace, little Anna found a pin in the shape of a lyre. The nurse then said to Ana: “It means you’ll be a poet”… the Prophecy came true, poems Anne began to write already at the age of 11. Akhmatova is one of the symbols of the Silver age. Her genius attracted the most brilliant of his contemporaries and threw her into the middle of events that become history. She was part of the story, reacting to the vicissitudes of fate poems.

“I think it is very symbolic that in our day, in our time, we open this monument, said Anna Bezlyudna, head of Inter Media Group. – Akhmatova is a poem that all of us need to read today. His creative life she showed that kind of loyalty. Anna Akhmatova was true to himself, his talent, his Homeland. And never, under any circumstances, this has not changed. And I am very glad that today in the center of Kiev, a monument to Anna Akhmatova. Thank you to all involved in this.”

At the opening of the monument gathered the lovers of the genius of Anna Andreevna – actors, TV personalities, and literary critics – for whom her line still ring true today, and life is an example of courage and perseverance.

“It is important that the monument was inaugurated in the place of direct relevance to Anna Akhmatova, – said Anton Nikitin, chief editor of TV channel “inter”. – These trees, these paths, this earth remember her.
