The investigative Committee in the Republic of Karelia opened a criminal case on false accusation against convict Koby Shurgaya, who reported about tortures in penal colony No. 7 in Segezha.
Shurgaya, said in a statement IC statement, claimed that “from may 2015 to March 2016 it systematically, twice a day, was beaten by prison staff, causing various punches and kicks, broke his ribs and the ear”.
Tested, said regional UK, damages the inmate is not revealed. In excitation of criminal case upon application of Shurgaya was denied.
The case against Shurgaya was initiated under part 2 of article 306 of the criminal code (deliberately false denunciation, connected with accusation of committing serious crimes).
Koba Shurgaya, the second complained of the torture of a prisoner colony No. 7 in Segezha, in respect of which criminal case is brought. On 2 February it became known that the prisoner IR-7 Hasbulat Gazzaevu reporting the torture, accused of using violence against members of the colony.
