A situation took under personal control the public Prosecutor of Ukraine.
In Ivano-Frankivsk police patrol stopped the driver for drunk driving, and for this they were suspended. This situation has taken personal control of Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, the press service of the Ministry of internal Affairs.
“Patrol police of Ivano-Frankivsk stopped the car with a drunk driver. He was a former police Colonel whose brother, the Prosecutor. The court recognized the guilt of the accused under articles 130 and 185 for driving while intoxicated and disobeying the police. But the latter complained that the police broke his little finger during the arrest and the court dismissed the commander of the crew of Leonid Goncharuk from the service. Ahead of the trial of Lieutenant” – said interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
He noted that the attorney General promised to take the case under personal control and to respond to the situation. Avakov also stressed that it was unacceptable a situation where police are afraid to stop drunk drivers.
“This is very alarming and need immediate strong reaction of civil society. It’s time to support and protect the new police officers, give them a support to protect and serve – not to break under the threat of a return of the old “solved” with ships not disbanded,” said the Minister of internal Affairs.
Earlier, Arsen Avakov reported that during the first 9 months of 2017, the police uncovered 25.6% more crimes than in the same period of 2016.
