In the Western Indian state of Gujarat passed a law according to which the slaughter of cows be punished by life imprisonment.
According to the amendments to the law on the protection of animals, transport of beef will also be punished with imprisonment up to 10 years.

Violators will be punished with heavy fines and jail. Besides, the fine is doubled, and now will have to pay $ 771.
