The suspicion concerns the participation of officials in a corruption scheme.
Prosecutors in the German city of Halle opened a criminal case against three officials on suspicion of forgery of registration documents for vehicles intended for import in Ukraine.
So, the suspicion regarding participation of officers in the corruption scheme on “rejuvenation” of the registration documents for vehicles, which subsequently were imported to Ukraine, said on air of broadcasting company MDR, the official representative of the Prosecutor’s office of Halle.
According to local German media, to trace the dishonest officials helped information from Ukraine. According to prosecutors, the deal was also involved in three car dealer Galle.
This scheme worked as follows: the dealers, seeking to get rid of the old car, worked in collusion with the officials of the registration offices. Those “filmed” with accompanying documents on the machine a few “extra” years, and after this car with a new “birth certificate” went to the Ukrainian border, and imported at a reduced excise duties.
Today discovered no less than 82 vehicles registration documents which raised suspicions among investigators. The investigation began in August. He was then conducted searches in the offices of dealers and offices of registration of cars. On suspected employees know little – only that one of them worked in Halle, the other two in köthen. They face sentences of from six months to five years of imprisonment.
