French police have detained a nice member of the Federation Council Suleiman Kerimov. This was reported by the press attache of the Russian Embassy Anna Clickova.
According to her, the Senator was detained November 20 at nice airport on arrival from Moscow. He was then taken to the police station.
“After receiving information about the incident, the employees of the Russian Consulate in Marseille came immediately to the airport, has established contacts with the police and met Kerimov, which took place in a police station in nice on the night of November 21,” said Clickova.
According to the press attache, at present, the Russian foreign institutions in France are in constant contact with the French authorities and seek from them the immediate release of the victim.
Suleiman Kerimov is a member of the Federation Council from Dagestan in 2008. In 2016, he took the 45-th place in the rating “200 richest businessmen of Russia” with a fortune of $ 1.6 billion.
