Social network Facebook announced the expansion of its capability alarmist service Safety Check, which automatically activated in case of crisis situations in the world.
Facebook adds Safety Check for the option Community Help (group help). The new function will be the coordination of people to provide mutual assistance to each other in time of emergency, reports the BBC.
Every user of Facebook who are in the area, which is automatically activated Safety Check (it is triggered if in one place there were many reports about any disaster or major incident) will be able to offer others or to solicit food, drink, shelter or the opportunity to use the transport.
For convenience the relevant page Facebook includes categories of assistance. It also contains the sections “food for animals”, “baby clothes” and “clothing”.
In addition, Community Help will help in finding the people in the disaster area, and provide a link with them.
At first, Community Help will work in test mode only in conditions of natural disasters in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and Saudi Arabia.
Then the results of the test period, all defects will be corrected, and it will be available for all countries and a wide range of crisis situations.
