Chinese operators have disabled the Apple Watch with LTE.
Chinese authorities have blocked access to LTE networks for all of the Apple Watch Series 3 without explanation.
Analysts say that this move was probably caused by the “care” of the government about security.
Apparently, the local intelligence services can’t track the work of the eSIM, one of the main features of the new smart watches from Apple. Interestingly, as soon as new watches appeared in China, eSIM worked correctly, LTE was available, but after a couple of days users have found that they no longer can set cellular gadget.
ESIM card is built into the device itself Apple. Unlike mobile operators who produce their SIM card, it does not have to get real, proven, user names.
Apple already knows about the problem and is conducting negotiations with operator China Unicom, which had previously said that access to LTE had been proposed “on an experimental basis.”
We add that the Apple watch Series 3 GPS + Cellular appeared in sale on September 22 in Australia, the UK, Germany, Canada, China, Puerto Rico, USA, France, Switzerland and Japan. Sales in China have not yet begun, and, apparently, the Chinese authorities were not ready for the emergence of a large number of new Apple Watch.
