Archaeologists have discovered ancient jade, which might have belonged to a Mayan king.
This discovery was the second in size, was found in Belize. According to preliminary data, jade is dated to the year 672 of our era.
It should be noted that the detection of jade belonging to the Mayan king, took place in 2015, but this became known only now after the publication of the results of the study in the journal “Ancient Mesoamerica”. The find was discovered not far from Belize. The size of the stone cover is 7.4 inch in length and 4.1 inches wide. The thickness of the ancient jade is about 0.3 inches. This is the first bead, on which were printed the text. Jade coating contains 30 characters, deciphering who will be able to know the name of the Mayan king.
The precious stone was found during excavations of the Palace, which was built 400 years ago. Inside the tomb there are 25 vessels, a huge stone and burial place, Dating back to 800 BC. Nephritis, as a rule, remains in the tomb in a U-shaped or T-shaped platform. Inside it is also a symbol of the God Maya. At the moment it is unclear what exactly might look like the appearance of the symbol of an extinct civilization.
