Arthur Yuzhaninov – 4th year student of the mechanical faculty of the Bashkir state agrarian University, Bashkir participant in the competition drift series. Car racing Arthur gathered his own hands, has perfected the work of all systems – powertrain, chassis, components and transmission units.

Arthur is working on a new car in the design office of the engineering centre of the University under the supervision of the chair of automobiles and tractor complexes of the mechanical faculty of Constantine Kostareva and Professor Andrei Negovora. It is part of his graduation project.

Serial driftcar vosmiklapanny engine capacity of 1.6 liters has received in his new engineering solution: increase compression ratio by milling the cylinder head; modified form of the combustion chamber by removing areas of low efficiency; machined on a lathe valve guides; the increased diameter of the inlet seat 2 mm and the outlet at
1 mm; altered timing for obtaining the torque at low speed; the reduced diameter sprocket of the intermediate shaft, which gave the opportunity to raise oil pressure; increased bandwidth of the intake and exhaust. All this increased the power of the engine driftcar to 110 HP and is limited to this level in favor of the reliability and features of the competition, for example, covering the race track. If necessary, it is technically possible to increase the power to 200 HP and more. This season Arthur has converted the engine to bi-fuel system, inspired by the successful experience of the racing team “KAMAZ-master”. As alternative fuel used was methane, the advantage of which is low cost, increase the resource life of the oil in the engine and environmental friendliness.

– If the use of natural gas in extreme conditions has a positive effect, in conformity with the technical standards and safety means for civilian transport is a good example, says Arthur Yuzhaninov.

Note that the engineering practices in the installation and configuration of the engine running on natural gas are available in NPF “BestIzol”. With the training engine (1.5 l, 16 valve) that runs on propane, can be found in the design office of the engineering centre of the University.
