For two days there fell almost half a meter of snow.
In the us city of Erie, Pennsylvania, for two Christmas day fell 53 inches (about 135 centimeters) of snow.
The reason for this heavy snowfall was the so-called “lake effect”: cold wind blows off the evaporation with the still warm Great lakes, which then fall rainfall.
According to local residents, they have to spend a few hours trying to clean up the passage from the garage to the road.
Another hour they add that you have to spend on the ride to work, although it often is only a few miles from their homes.
Reuters has released photos from the scene of the struggle of local residents snow storm. A few hours Erie has turned into one big snowdrift, cut through the rugged snow tracks.
Most amounts of sudden snowfall outraged motorists. Some of them barely able to see their vehicles under a four-foot layer of snow.
And those who were lucky enough to dig out the car, surprised that even on off-road machines, the diameter of the wheels is hardly enough to rise above the drifts.
