Hungary issued an ultimatum to Ukraine

Without the repeal of the law, Ukraine will not be able to cooperate with NATO, threatened in Hungary.

Ukraine, having adopted the new law on education, violated the obligations to NATO should therefore withdraw it. The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Hungary péter Szijjártó said in Brussels the meeting of foreign Ministers of NATO countries, said in a statement on the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Hungary.

“Ignoring the rights of minorities and adopting a new law on education, Ukraine has not only violated the obligations to the EU but also to NATO,” – said the Minister.

Szijjártó stressed that Hungary will not sacrifice the interests of the Transcarpathian Hungarians in a geopolitical game. According to him, Ukraine itself is to blame for the situation, and if it’s important for her to resume cooperation with NATO, it should revoke the law on education.

“If Kiev withdraws the law, Hungary will once again be the loudest to speak in support of European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine”, – the Minister promised.
