The heroes among us.
On Sunday evening, October 1, about 20 thousand people gathered to relax and listen to the country music festival in Las Vegas. 64-year-old Steven Paddock for unknown reasons opened fire on the gathered crowd from the window of his hotel room. At the moment we know that the shooter killed 59 people and wounded more than 500.
Despite the chaos and terror that engulfed the scared to death people trying to escape, there were brave souls who risked their lives to help others. They helped the police, carried and transported the wounded to the hospital, had obscured the family. Unfortunately, some of these heroes survived.
Jonathan Smith (Jonathan Smith), a specialist in repair of copiers, came to the festival with family to celebrate brother’s birthday. First, Smith thought he heard fireworks. But when singer Jason Aldean ran away from the scene, he realized that it was gunshots. People began to run, and Smith lost sight of all family members. The guy kept his head and sent a group of frightened people to a safe place, shouting that they do shoot, have to run. Trying to get to a group of teenagers got shot in the neck.
One of the policemen helped him to stop the bleeding and was taken to the hospital. Smith survived, and all his family, but the bullet most likely and will remain so forever in the body: the doctors did not dare remove it in fear of making it worse. Jonathan Smith saved about 30 people. He was diagnosed with a broken collarbone, cracked ribs and a bruised lung.
“Please pray for my father and all who were there. He shielded his mother myself.” Jack Beaton (Jack Beaton) died from his injuries.

Sonny Melton (Melton Sonny) with his wife Heather. The man died slowly, one after another spouse. At the festival the couple celebrated its first wedding anniversary. Sonny grabbed Heather and ran, obscuring her. “I felt the moment when he was stabbed in the back”, — told then Heather in an interview.
When the shooting began, 29-year-old Taylor Winston (Winston Taylor) proved to be the right of the stage. He was able to escape with a friend in a safe place where they spotted the truck with the keys in the ignition and no driver. Guys began to wear in the car injured and taken to hospital. They were able to get more than 20 people.
Carly Krieger (Carly Krygier) immediately put daughter on the ground and covered his body. Both survived.
Firefighter Steve Keys (Steve Keys) did the woman CPR when he was shot in the chest and abdomen. In spite of his injuries, the firefighter remained in place and continued to help people. Steve KIS survived.
48-year-old former teacher Mike Kronk (Cronk Mike) knew immediately what happens when his best friend Rob Mac was hit by three bullets. Kronk pulled the other with the help of other people, stopping the blood with his shirt. When a comrade was taken to hospital, a former teacher returned to the scene of the tragedy to help others.
Financial Advisor from Philadelphia Mike McGarry (Mike McGarry) rushed to shield their children as soon as the shots rang out. “Im 20, I am 53. I’ve lived a good life.” McGarry and his children survived. When the crowd began to disperse, on the father’s back was visible footprints.
Lindsay Padget (Lindsay “padge” Paget) with the groom emerged unscathed and made it to his car. The pair then went back and took the scene 10.
The Los Angeles fire Marshal mark McCurdy (Mccurdy Mark) issued by the bullets wounded his wife’s sister, and then returned to the scene to help others wounded.
Officer Richard Cole (Richard Cole) was one of the many police officers who arrived at the scene of the shooting. His brother shared the photos of what looked like a car and the uniform of an officer, when he helped the wounded, including a woman with a bullet in the head.
A veteran of the Iraq war, Chris Bethel (Chris Bethel) came to Las Vegas for a conference for work. He heard gunfire two floors above your room. Thanks to his call, the police were able to locate the shooter.
