Tiny housing at “affordable” prices.
Hong Kong is one of the most advanced cities in the world, occupying a leading place in the field of Finance, Economics, culture and technology. The rapid economic growth of the metropolis determined the cost for housing, which is considered one of the most expensive not only in China but also the world at large. Because of overcrowding in the city of endless possibilities is virtually no space left for construction. Huge skyscrapers occupied the whole territory of Hong Kong.
In 2012, this metropolis was recognized as one of the most livable cities in the world. However, not all. Of the 7 million inhabitants of Hong Kong almost 20% live below the poverty line who cannot afford expensive housing.
That though as-that to solve this problem and not allow people to live on the street, in the city decided to sell the apartment with a small (even very small) size. Naturally, small living space to buy or rent for less money. Now in Hong Kong you can see the apartment with an area of 25 square meters, which are restricted for 5 and more people. At the same time on the bathroom and kitchen stands 2 – 3 feet square. The price for the rental of such housing is not much, not a few $ 1000 (!).
Michael wolf, a famous German photographer, decided to show the modern world how people live in cramped apartments in Hong Kong. Inspired by this problem, he created a series of images, which depicts a tiny housing from the inside. All photos were taken from above to encompass the whole room in the 1st picture. His work Michael wolf showed, in some limited conditions there is the 5th part of the population of the city of endless possibilities.
