Kiev city Council appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with a request to streamline the operations of the hostels in Ukraine and to develop a procedure of control over their activities. The decision of the city Council published in the newspaper Khreschatik.
“The current market of services of temporary residence in Kiev and other settlements of Ukraine the situation today looks threatening. In recent years, cases of use of residential premises as temporary accommodation facilities, so-called hostels, mini-hotels, private hostels, which certainly leads to violation of the rights of other residents living in adjacent to the hostels premises”, – said in the appeal.
The deputies asked the Parliament to define the legal status of hostels and similar facilities providing temporary accommodation services, to develop a clear procedure for the registration and functioning on the territory of the settlements and, thus, to eliminate or strictly regulate the location of hostels in residential buildings.
In addition, the deputies insist on introduction of control mechanism over the activities of hostels, to develop an effective system of fines and other sanctions for violation of this order.
