“Halloween is back”: Michael Myers will once again be terrible

It had been two months since we last heard about the reboot history of the killer in the mask and with a large kitchen knife. Then the Director David Gordon green and screenwriter Danny McBride has told about how have decided that their picture will not be a remake of the original film by John carpenter.

Now McBride attended the Empire Film podcast, where he told a little more about your vision for the project “Halloween returns”:

David and we believe that we are both fans of horror, and we are huge fans of John carpenter and what he did in the original “Halloween”, so I think we were disappointed in all subsequent parts of this series, I think we are trying to cancel all this and just go back to what was really good in the original. It was straightforward and it allowed to reach that level of horror without drifting into banality, and it’s not turned Michael Myers into some supernatural creature that was impossible to kill. It doesn’t scare me. I want to be afraid of what I think can happen in reality.

Okay, you guys want to make Michael Myers a person and not a mystical invulnerable killing machine. As far as we know, the carpenter of their ideas like you, but I’m not sure that this was his own plan when making the first film, as he initially described his character as “supernatural acts of God, force of nature, escape from the dark depths”. But I do not argue, a little humanity, a little vulnerability will not interfere.

McBride also added:

I think it’s much worse to be afraid of the one who stands in the shadows, until you throw away garbage, not someone impossible to kill when he is chasing you.

I think both are very scary, but no, I’m not arguing. Suspense? Suspense — it’s all awesome, for that matter.
