Half of the milky Way comes from another galaxy

It was established by simulating the formation of galaxies on a supercomputer.

An international group of scientists found that in fact half of the matter the milky Way is of extragalactic origin, as stated on the website at northwestern University in the United States.

The full study on this topic was published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

“It is likely that most of the matter the milky Way was in other galaxies and traveled across intergalactic space before it was knocked out the powerful wind, and eventually found their new home in the milky Way,” said one of the study’s authors, Daniel angles-Alcazar.

Experts suggest that matter could move between galaxies at a speed of about 100 kilometers per second. While filling the milky Way alien substance has taken billions of years.

To establish the foreign origin of half the galaxy, astronomers have been able, with the help of a supercomputer, which modeled the formation of the milky Way.
