The women’s tennis Association introduced an updated version of world ranking.
Simona Halep, despite the defeat in the final of the Premier Mandatory tournament in Beijing, walked Garbinie the Wind and for the first time topped the WTA rankings. The Romanian became the 25-th first racket of the world in the history of the WTA tour, and in the course of 2017, just three tennis players debuted in this status (Pliskova, Muguruza and Halep).
The strongest tennis player of Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals of the “China Open” has missed a victory over Caroline Garcia and regressed to fourth position in the world classification. However, Svitolina before the end of the season will have a chance to break into the top WTA rankings.
Elena Ostapenko became the seventh racket of the world and improved personal and national record. Caroline Garcia at the expense of titles in Wuhan and Beijing debuted in the top 10 and was the ninth racket of the world.
