A banner year for genre cinema continues! At the time, like a horror movie “It” sets records at the box office in Russia and the United States, another picture, “water Shape” (The Shape of Water) of the famous Director Guillermo Del Toro (“pan’s Labyrinth”, “blade 2”, “Pacific rim”) has received the main prize of the 74th Venice film festival.
The international jury, headed by actress Annette Bening, was awarded the”water” award called the”Golden lion of St. Mark”.

Frankly, I was not thrilled with the first trailer of this movie, but now “Shape of water” will be of interest to all, including skeptics like me. Moreover, for a primitive, judging by the synopsis, the history seems to be hiding something really interesting.
In a secret government lab lonely Eliza (Sally Hawkins) is forced to spend his days in silence and isolation from the rest of the world. But everything changes when, together with his colleague Zelda (Octavia Spencer) she reveals details of a top secret experiment…
They say that a film made as a parody of Hollywood cinema 60 years, and the fact that the main character is mute, emphasizes that the expression of emotions is not really the right words. Sam Del Toro even said that he was not averse to make a film at all without direct speech.
The Russian premiere of “Forms of water” is scheduled for 18 January 2018.
