According to the Prime Minister, meat prices went up because of exports.
Meat prices began to rise due to the fact that Ukraine has become an exporting country. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman.
“We have no preconditions for price growth. Yes, the prices went up because we started to be a country-exporter. As for meat, you know that was the African plague, so the price began to rise. But now we see a decrease in the price of pork. But our mission for 2018 is to increase the export of meat. We assume billions of dollars of support for farmers. In 2018 we will make a breakthrough,” – said Groisman.
We will remind, in September, the Prime Minister said that Ukraine has no plans to restrict the export of meat. Groysman said that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will offer a number of solutions that will fill the domestic market with meat and, thus, to reduce the price of it.
Note, as of September 12, 286 of Ukrainian enterprises, including 106 food producers, in particular producers of meat, poultry, fish, honey, eggs, milk and dairy products had the right to export products to the countries of the European Union.
