Summing up the results of the second stage of the 100th version of the three-week Cycling race Giro d’italia.
In the second phase, core group, remembering yesterday’s embarrassment, had closed the gap, consisting of five riders, over 47 kilometres to the finish line.
Finishing the alignment was not equal to the German Grenadier Andre Greipel. Not to say that the main competitor racer Lotto Soudal Caleb
Euan due to the flying chain could not participate in the battle for the stage.
Greipel won for the seventh time stage of the Giro. All the 34-year-old Sprinter from Rostock now 22 victories in racing Grand tour.
Due to bonification Greipel caught the pink Jersey. Tomorrow is another sprint stage, and therefore the chances of the Germans at maintaining the leadership of apparel is quite high.
