After a rest day the participants of the race were waiting for a cutting length of 39 kilometers. The most important step to become a territory of the Dutch racer “Sunweb” Tom Dumoulin – silver medalist of the last Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro once again confirmed the strength of his individual turn.
Dumoulin, 49 seconds ahead of the nearest pursuer, and his advantage in the overall standings was threatening the favorites for the General classification.
Nair Quintana, who began the stage in a pink t-shirt, now loses to Dumoulin almost two and a half minutes, and Vincenzo nibali behind the Dutchman almost three minutes.
