According to her, this must be done to open the way to political negotiations that would stop the war in Syria.
The head of the foreign policy Committee of the Bundestag Norbert Röttgen also said that the West should consider the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia. Putin has no reason to respond to the calls of the Europeans, because he didn’t have to pay for the war, the politician believes.
On the night of 28 February, the Turkish army attacked Syrian positions in Idlib, destroying a convoy of government troops. It was a response to the shelling of the Turkish military in the Jabal al-Zawiya, which killed 33 people. Ankara has promised to take revenge on Assad for their deaths.
